Chris' personal story

My ex-partner used to punch and kick me, yell and scream at me. The final time she did this she was yelling and screaming at me and causing our 1 yr old daughter to cry out. I tried several times to calm her down but she didn't and kept scaring our child so I placed my hand on her chest and gently pushed her against a door telling her to calm down. 4 days later the police arrested me and I was charged with DV assault with all sorts of false allegations.

Luckily I had a decent solicitor who negotiated with the police and convinced them that her statement didn't make any sense. Her statement and the false accusations were crossed out and put in “he pushed,” which I did to calm her down. I was convicted and haven't seen or spoken to my daughter since, which was now 6 years ago, even though I have tried through Interrelate. I cannot afford to go to court.
