Sharp rise in number of women guilty of domestic violence (UK)
The number of women guilty of domestic violence has risen sharply and has been blamed on the agression fuelled “ladette” culture. There has been a four fold increase in the number of women convicted of attacking their partners in just five years, figures show. Some experts are concerned it is a sign of a growing culture of violence among women, with binge drinking now rife in both sexes. Overall, the number of reported incidents of domestic violence has increased by 30 per cent but convictions remain very low at just 6.4 per cent, or one in 15, according to figures obtained by the Liberal Democrats.
